We are eager to announce the opening of the Chicago Marda’s House! Through our Marda’s House (MH) transitional housing program (THP), women survivors can enjoy clean, stable housing for up to six months while they work toward independence. Housed residents participate in outreach case management, financial planning and individualized goals during their stay. All activities are aimed towards self-sufficiency and self-empowerment. The Chicago Marda’s House THP for single women is a 5-bedroom communal living model. The residents each have a private bedroom and share common space such as living room, dining room, bathrooms and kitchen. THP also offers the following victim support and follow up services that are designed to educate and empower each participant to achieve permanent housing and a violence free life.
Transitional housing is not an emergency shelter. Women are referred by shelter advocates after identifying the need for continued safety and support. If you are in crisis and need immediate shelter, please find a list of resources in the “Resource" section of our website. |
We are currently working to establish opportunities to increase our footprint and connect with organizations who are committed to supporting the future of women and children impacted by domestic violence in the Chicago area. If your organization is interested, please contact us for more information.
