We, like so many in our community, are saddened to learn of the news of Coach Ford’s departure from MSU. The Ford family has made so many positive impacts on our community.
And while they, as a family, contemplate their future, the future of the Rebound Foundation as a Springfield fixture remains the same. We have a strong Board of Directors and foundation in Springfield. Our Board has long known that there may be a time when the Ford family no longer resides in Springfield, as the life of a coach can certainly be migratory. The plan has always been to maintain a Rebound Foundation in Springfield, regardless of Coach Ford’s position or whether the Ford family resided in Springfield. Christina Ford created the Rebound Foundation to support domestic violence survivors in our community by providing transitional housing and support and to engage young people in our relationship violence prevention program. The Rebound Foundation will continue with this mission, with continued support from the Ford family and Christina’s position as Founder remains intact. We, and the Ford family, are truly grateful for the support the Springfield community has given us over the last several years and the outpouring of support over this transition.

A 501c3 organization, founded by Dana and Christina Ford, that raises funding and awareness to help renew and restore women, who are courageous enough to Make A Recovery from Domestic Abuse and help build a new generation that promotes healthy relationships. It's our mission to support women in their fresh start by providing a supportive and safe home and prevent youth from entering the cycle of abuse. The Rebound Foundation currently provides service in Springfield, MO and Chicago, IL. |
